After apprenticeship in Japanese cuisine in Japan, and years of experience as a chef in both the U.S. and Taiwan, Yukio Sonoda joined Ise-Shima Restaurant as its Executive Chef in 2015 when the restaurant first opened its door at the Miyako Hybrid Hotel Torrance. Executive Chef Sonoda makes it his mission to search for the best ingredients in California to create a special menu that will appeal to the many guests who visit Ise-Shima Restaurant. He strives to satisfy every guest and continues to always challenge himself to create new ideas for an exciting Japanese menu.
